About the Costa Rica Immersion Trip
This unforgettable experience is anticipated for February 12–20, 2027 and will provide students with opportunities to stroll through the vibrant streets of San José, explore the Monteverde Cloud Forest, learn to cook traditional Costa Rican dishes, and to visit the Arenal Volcano National Park and its nearby geothermal hot springs. Students will stay with host families for part of the trip and will engage in authentic cultural experiences that bring language learning to life.

Eligibility
Students who participate must:
Be enrolled in a Spanish class at GHS in 2026-2027 or have finished the Spanish sequence at GHS.
Be in good academic and behavioral standing.
Ideally have a proficiency level of novice high or higher, in order to navigate the demands of the immersion program in Spanish.

Students need to complete all parts of the traveler packet by October 5, 2026 to be considered for this experience.
First, read this family letter. Then:
Student completes GHS Costa Rica Information (Google Form). *Students will need to be logged into their Glastonbury Google accounts to access and complete this form.
Teachers complete the recommendation; students give these to 4 different teachers. Paper copy.
Student and family complete this self-assessment. Paper copy. While the family discusses together, the student completes the paperwork.
Parents / guardians complete and sign this checklist. *Includes details about the entire process. It may be helpful to read this first. It is signed and turned in at the end.
