French Exchange

About the French Exchange

This is the 26th year of the exchange with Collège LeBocage, a school of approximately 600 students and 40 teachers located in Dinard, France. Students and teachers from the school in Dinard visit us in October. As hosts, our students will be responsible for a French student and have the opportunity to create a lasting international friendship. Our students then travel to France in March and stay with families in Dinard. While in France, there will be many exciting excursions for us such as a stay in Paris or visiting Mont Saint Michel. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities to visit classes.

Eligibility

Students who participate must:

• Be enrolled in a GHS French class in 2025-26 or in SMS French 8 in 2025-26.

• Be enrolled in a French class at GHS in 2026-2027.

• Be in good academic, attendance and behavioral standing.

• Be a student at SMS or GHS while completing the application. 

Current Status

Students need to complete all parts of the traveler packet by May 21, 2026 to be considered for this experience. 

First, read this family letter. Then:

1. Student completes French Exchange Information (Google Form). *Students will need to be logged into their Glastonbury Google accounts to access and complete this form.

2. Teachers complete the recommendation. 

3. Student and family complete this self-assessment. 

4. Parents / guardians and students complete and sign this checklist. *Includes details about the entire process. It may be helpful to read this first. It is signed and turned in at the end.
